Here's another coin I've had for a bit. Someone told me it was Lithuanian, but asking my Lithuanian cousins about it didn't bring anything. Here is what I know: Year: 1716 Denomination: ?/3 (?) Composition: I think it might be silver, but unsure. It is easily the thinnest coin I own. The crest with the crown is something I haven't seen in any of my old coin books. Anyone have any knowledge on these symbols?
The reflection of the light on the wooden background is bad.. try placing your coin on something with a non reflective surface such as a black or dark colored towel. This way the coin will show more detail.
Hello Evan Saltis, this is one of the ways to make pictures of coins with your iphone. Balance the phone on an empty water glass and try to fill the screen almost to the full with the coin. Like this: When you touch the button, you have eliminated tremors. With Paint you can put the two sides of the coin together in one picture.
May very well be. I would believe that, considering the color isn't consistent with how silver would oxidize.
@Bradley Trotter @Pellinore @paddyman98 Here are the photos I took now that I'm back at home. These are very obviously much better. I will edit the original post to contain these also.
Looks like I can't edit the original thread. That's fine. Ill just hope everyone happens to take a little scroll down
To me, looks like this coin here: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces47138.html However, it's still not the same.
This one has the right crest on it, but still not the same one. These were both listed under billon as composition. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces84119.html
That's the one I saw that really pointed me to Saxony-Albertine, the one I have is 3 pfennig. I found it in a book I have here at my house. Thanks, everyone, for your help!
