Does anybody know where there are any sites online where you can put coins on a layaway program and pay them off in payments? I know like HSN has, on the more expensive items, the option to split the payments. I have found one site that allows you to put anything over $50 on layaway and pay it off here and there, with a 10% down payment, which I thought is a great idea for people on a smaller budget who want things that are slightly out of reach.

Northeastcoins apparently do but I have never bought from them before. Just feel free to ask the sellers and see if they do accept such plans. The worst you can get is a no answer. :)

Not a bad question. I have thought of doing this myself and I've known dealers that do put coins on layaway. Not sure how many are willing to do that but might be worth your time to contact dealers direct and ask them. At coin shows I've met one dealer that does that all the time. One time I didn't have the money for something I wanted so he held it for me and said I could either pay via mail or just wait for another show and he would bring it. For one person that wanted a very High grade 1916D Mercury Dime he allowed the purchaser to pay for it over a 6 month period. Unfortunately he dosen't have a web site that I kow of or I'd post it for you.
This could be a risky thing to do if you don't know the seller though. You could be paying for something for a long time and without a written statement, you could loose your money and nothing could be proved.
Probably the best thing is to use the internet and contact as many dealers as possible with that question. For example you may want to try www.coppercoins.com and if not him he may know others that do since he is in this buisness so much more than most of us.

I have bought from these folks before and been pleased with the coins. I see they do have a layaway program but ALSO a 10% restocking fee.

Been a while since I bought but they have great pictures of the coins they sell.

I have used Jake's Marketplace a few times. The postage is pretty slow but other than that I like them a lot. Googling the name should bring up their site. They have layaway.
