Over the next few days I will post five coins I received from @CircCam.

Now, I only ordered one, this delightful buffalo. The obverse is suffused with a blue toning with some orange nestled in the devices. The reverse has orange throughout the body and at the bottom edge of the torso. The rest of the fields share the blue coloring from the obverse. The bluing makes the coin seem just a bit darker in hand than a blast white example.

I did not know who the seller was when I outbid the nine other offers, but the price was extremely favorable and I counted myself lucky to get it. Turns out, I was luckier than I knew. Details to follow...

    It’s an AU-58/PCGS.

I thought this was cool for under 20 buckaroos. This was minted while railroads were being furiously constructed to give access to Western Territories, and Indian attacks were the headlines of the day. 5F74FF03-0F4D-49D1-B190-6E1259536F6B.jpeg 4635EBCE-C198-4905-B208-96A1301EFB43.jpeg

From @CircCam, coin two of five.

I was surprised at how bulky my package was when it arrived. After all, how much space does a nickel take? There were some things packed and taped together, and a separate envelope with a message on it, and what appeared to be an eBay-style receipt.

But, it wasn’t. It was a note to me, personally, from the seller.

Turns out that CoinTalk had a role in this. @CircCam explained that he recognized my name and enjoyed the thread I started on Jefferson nickels. So he took the opportunity to make me a gift of a couple of Jefferson’s and a Lincoln.

Frankly, I am touched. I just share what I am fortunate enough to have. That’s plenty for me.

    Here’s my original 1947-D.

And this is the unexpected one in the package.

This is a seriously lovely coin, enhanced by the red, green, and blue toning at the bottom of the reverse. The obverse reveals delightful rim toning, well, just everywhere I look.

Next time, I will explore the rest of the package.

(If you see @lordmarcovan’s narrative style here, well, it may not be an accident. Except I don’t plan to drag it out quite as long!)

New arrival. I’d been considering this for a couple of years. Happy to pull the trigger!:woot: B241CB6E-AA83-4035-9B8B-77E6E007F690.jpeg 34986092-8D37-4058-87B6-CF05D05353A8.jpeg 40B11B74-4FF9-43D6-A845-DB9ABAA6A81C.jpeg

So today started out like any normal day, finding a few wheat pennies (seems like there are a lot more than usual in the bank rolls lately).

Then a customer paid for his coffee with this 1937

    IMG_20190419_172519215.jpg

Then a regular customer that knows I collect coins came in with a bunch of nickels for me. The only nickels I've really paid attention to are war nickels, Indian Head and older, so I'm not to sure about other ones. He said they included double D's, some other things (that I don't remember) and a 1957 that looks proof like.

I'll try to sort them out and post pics when I figure out what I have.

He also gave me these 2 pennies that looked amazing

It's good to have friends. I'll have to find out what he collects and hook him up.

The picture of the reverse is playing tricks on my mind. I can't stop seeing it as if the devices were depressed rather than raised.
