Thanks all for the advice. Huh, I'm relatively a newbie at this, but I would think the scuff marks would make it even more interesting.

Glad to. I ordered 3 sets the first day they were available. One is fine, one is barely visible and I posted the third one above. I just ordered another set. Just want to see if this one is better. lol

I also have the reverse proof ordered. Should be here next week.

Mine has a almost imperceptible scuff at 2-3 oclock, no scuff at all at 10 oclock, though there does appear to be a strike through of a thread at 10 oclock instead. I am satisfied with it.

Are these "must have" sets because of the "W" cent?

it just seems like proof sets lose the value over time.

    I would say no.
The proof set themselves are just normal every year proof set. Nothing special. As @gamebird98 said, they tend to lose value over time. The "W" cent comes in it's own little plastic envelope. Nothing special there either. If you are just interested in the cent, I'd check them out from a third party.

That I suspect would depend on what one collects.

I too purchased the silver proof set as it is 99.9% silver this year.

Maybe I'm crazy, but this seems to be hot right now. Just bought 5 69 PF for $30.50 each from
Bullion Exchanges. My fingers are crossed that I made a good purchase.

Whatever strikes my fancy at the time. Eclectic for sure and I love a good deal.

Probaly not because few people really "collect" proof sets. The cent on the other hand is something of a "must have" if you collect Lincoln cents. But you can just buy the cent separately on the aftermarket in that case and probably spend less than you would buying the set. Plus if you buy the cent in person you can look to make sure you aren't getting a spotted one. Many of the coins arriving with the sets do have spots.

@dwhiz It shows how greedy the TPG's have become. Encapsulating and grading a flawed coin. The US Mint is replacing all the flawed Proof 2019-W Lincoln cents. The catch is that you have to return the entire set along with the cent. You pay the return postage but they will pay the shipping when they send you the new set.
