I recently purchased a new scale and got a wild hair to sort some of my accumulation of 82 lincolns I have set aside since their release. I'm not sure why I set so many aside, but it seemed like a good idea at the time. I found that the majority of them were copper and denver mint. I was checking with a loupe for RPMs and found that quite a few had die cracks on the reverse on the columns of the memorial, usually on the last 3 or 4 on the right side. I'm wondering if this was a trait of this date or if I just happened upon a group out of the same roll. In maybe 300 coins, I found at least 25 with the same type of error. In the philadelphia coins there were none with this type of die crack. I apologize for the lack of pictures. I'm working on that one.
Sounds to me like you got many from the same die-pair. I have not found many with this particular die-crack formation. While I find most of my '82 D's are copper, few have die cracks. None of mine are in the location you mention. It should be noted - "I am not an expert" (by any means or definition of the word.)
