    What to do with this coin?? Description: 1 3/8 Dia Silver plated copper

    Elizabeth D .G. Francorvm Regina ( on face)

    Carolvs IX on the other side.........dated 1572

    Im not sure, but I like the date. There are a lot of smart people on here they will reply soon. :)

    Seriously, if you could post an image of the piece, it would aid in being able to identify it. It is possible it is a 16th century jetton or medallion.

    "Elizabeth, by the Grace of God, Queen of France."

    Charles IX ascended the throne of France in 1560, at age 10, with his mother Catherine de' Medici (of the Italian arsenic loving Medicis) as Regent. He married Elizabeth of Austria in 1570, and died in 1574.
