    What is stupid about INDIAN PRIDE. I am native American and I don't think you or anyone should forget the REAL FIRST AMERICANS. The people the land was stolen from.

    I rather like Randy L' Teton on the $1 coin, she is a hottie anyway:). More women on coins and less stupid presidential corpses.! I just wish she was Aniyunwiya instead of Shoshone.

    I think 2010 is a prime opprotunity for the mint to change the designs of all circulating coins except the Presidential Dollars. I'm ready for someone other than FDR on the dime and Kennedy on the half. What about Theodore Roosevelt? or Ben Franklin again? or someone else historic like Thomas Paine?

    My stepmother was Sioux.

    I am white of mainly French and German descent. I used to go fishing with my stepmother's mom when I was about 13-14. Now, this lady would tell you to your face she did NOT like white people (but I was okay). I had absolutely no problem with this. How could I?
    I am not proud of what my ancestors did nor will I ever be but what's done is done. All I can do is give the Native Americans the respect and honor they deserve.
    They have fought in wars for this country and it was THEIRS first!

    Please remember that next time someone blurts out a tremendously ignorant statement.

    The design on the reverse of the 1-cent coins issued after

    December 31, 2009, shall bear an image emblematic of President

    Lincoln’s preservation of the United States of America as a single

    and united country.

    Ok. What are some things that they could use that would be emblematic of Lincoln preserving the country? The Gettysburg Address? Or him burning a ton of cities?

    What will happen in 2010?
    Social Security.
    If I manage to live that long.
    That is, if the government has any money left at all then.

    You're lucky I'll have another 15 years to go. They may actually have some money for you. In my case the SS fund will have been running a deficit for 12 years by then.

    You know, Christmas is only special because it happens once a year... if it was every day, nobody would care.

    The only reason the different reverses are special is because it's a departure from the norm. If it instead became the norm, people would get sick of it.

    I say let the 2010 quarter just be a normal quarter, for at least a year. Maybe have special circulating commemoratives ocassionally, but not constrantly. Else collectors will burn out on them and just cease caring.

    And please, PLEASE, do not put a forward facing portrait of Washington on the quarter... that thing on the nickel is seriously butt-ugly and an insult to Jefferson... let's not continue with that OK? May as well pee on their graves instread, that kind of insult dissipates faster at least, doesn't linger around for 40+ years (circulationg life of a coin on average).

    Not a big fan of the new nickel if you can't tell. I'm all for re-designing the coinage periodically, should be done a lot more often than it is, but it has to pass some basic tests of aesthetics... make sure it looks better than a 5 year old's crayon drawing, for one...

Abraham Lincoln, 4 March 1865. I think something emblematic of that Second Inaugural would be appropriate, if they could make it work on the small canvas that is the cent.

    And to Conder I would say this: "There are other parts of politicians we haven't seen yet as well, but considering what Gov. Spitzer of New York just got caught doing, if we ask for other parts, who knows what we might get."

    I would like to see them redisgn the front so that its atleast a semi frontal portrait of Lincoln, like with the nickle.

    It's Medicare you should be worried about, not social security. It's going to run out of money a lot sooner.

    new denominations

    how about new 1/4 cent, 1/2 cent, 1-1/2 cent, $2.50 note, or maybe 99 cent?. i love .99 cent. if you buy something from 99 cent store. you don't to get a penny change. this way, the american people can also improve math.

    fluctuation in stock market before were using like 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 5/8. 3/4, 7/8. now they changed it.
