    That is found at the very end of the auction description. Thus, the seller is admitting to violating eBay's keyword spam policy:

    I sent the following message"

    Is this the actual coin in the picture? That coin is an AG/G at best, nowhere near MS, AU or even midgrade. Please send me a picture of the coin described, I am interested in a higher grade Barber.

    We shall see the response.

    After veiwing this sellers other items. I was guessing that he only lists these type of coins to get attention to his other items. Like all the gold coins he is selling an the nice CC morgans. But low and behold EVERYTHING has the same format. AU, MS, BU, Isnt that a EBAY NONO if the coin is not slabbed by a TPGS that ebay recognize's. I think im going to be reporting everything this guy is selling. AS i have nothing else to do with my morning at the moment. :)

    clembo A closed mind is no mind

    If they were more upfront about it I might consider an infoauction but they don't so it's a scam.

    AU=Awfully Ugly
    BU=Beat Up
    MS=More (you know)

    This auction is a lie and a fraud. He should be kicked off ebay. I don't know who'd fall for this tactic but it is just NOT RIGHT.

    I would like to thank the gentleman that brought this forum to my attention. Guys I would like to apologize for any confusion. Obviously, the coins in my listings are not all AU or MS or BU. That designation may only correctly describe a small portion of our inventory. We use templates to list multiple listings all at once. This makes it much easier to offer large quantities and use time efficiently. When we started selling coins on eBay we worked directly with the eBay staff to polish our listing to make sure they were in compliance. Everyone here probably knows how competitive it is to stand out on eBay. The staffers at eBay approved the use of AU MS BU in the title as long as we did not use any numbers or grading companies names. Nevertheless, we have altered the listings and you will notice our new listings will be a little different. I would encourage everyone to bring matters like this to the attention of the eBay sellers instead of callously taking pop shots with no way for the seller to defend themselves. My passion is for the hobby of numismatics and not diplomacy. I hope my readers and eBayers will see that we are stand up folks and care more about our customers and the art of collecting than other posters have portrayed in this thread. Thank you for all of your comments and I encourage you to keep watching and again would like to stress that I am available, just send me a comment thru ebay. Thanks

    I wouldnt call them " POP SHOTS" Thats like me listing a 1987 Porsche and then say Beautiful Mercedes, great looking Hummer, Nice BMW. The title doesnt apply to the listing. Regardless of the AU MS or whatever. You dont need to be competitive on ebay you just need to be honest. Theres a big difference. Weather or not you agree with the posts here or in any other forum if you want great customers then list what your selling correctly. If you care so much about your customers and NOT the art of collecting then list the title for exactly what your selling. Thank GOD for people and forums like this other wise beginners in this hobby and field would be buying coins based on its title totally clueless as to what they are actually buying. Ok in done

    In general, serious Coin Collectors have pretty good "EBAY-RADAR" and an even better memory...

    I don't think you are giving enough credit to the buyers. People are smart, and there are plenty of resources out there to educate beginners. My nephew bought a quarter from a dealer last week for $4 when it wasn't worth half that. I asked him why he bought that one and he told me it was because he liked it and it was silver and who knows how high silver is going. I said well in that case I think you made a good purchase. Now I could have called the dealer an accused him of taking advantage of a 10 year old because the grade on the holder (Proof 70) was clearly not right, but it didn't matter because he didn't buy it thinking it was a PF70. He bought it because it looked nice to him and he wanted something silver. You have heard my explanation of it. I think if you are going to bad mouth anyone on eBay stick to the phony grading companies and people that do actually tell you that you can make millions buying their coins. I agree with bonedigger people are intelligent enough to read how to grade coins, especially if someone is looking to buy something on eBay. And IF you had listed an 87 Porsche on eBay and used the letters BMW in the title do you think people would buy it expecting to get a Porsche, or do you think people would want to open it up and see the pictures to see what’s going on. EBay has stood behind our listings numerous times and furthermore the listings will be changed so even a fifth grader can understand them.

    The question here is ARE YOU SMARTER THEN A 5Th GRADER? Looks like Ebay just turned in to a game show.

    Ok maybe your not getting it.......The whole point of the porsche and the bwm and mercedes thing is as relevant as your titles. Its called keyword spamming maybe you heard of it? If your going to use au ms bu or whatever then show an item that your selling that is. IM not really interested in what your nephew bought. Well heres your quote " That designation may only correctly describe a small portion of our inventory." Well so far from what Ive seen au ms bu are far from that. If your listing too many auctions at once than maybe you should list less auctions and clearly spend more time typing out the auctions for each individual coin rather than using a template. But then again this is just my opinion.
