Yes...it looks like it is placed on the slab.....What I really find REALLY wierd is you looking at quarters, LOL !!!
I think it's an odd camera like my microscope, not a photoshop job. The camera makes a bad glare off of the slab.
Actually this person took the picture under a magnifier light. Thats what the washout is and why it looks the way it does. I dont think that they messed with the photo, I can get the same picture using mine here. Poor choice of pictures but.. BUY THE SLAB dont worry about the coin.. wink wink..
The photo is clean. There is no Photoshopping done there. He is just using a very poor choice of lighting. Look at the reverse pic, you can see the reflection of the camera and his hands. The halo light is just positioned in a manner that makes things look funky.
This photo was taken with a cheap light ring attached on the camera. The light ring is intended for photos up close and not as far as way as the guy took the picture. I have one of these rings and recognized it quickly. .....Thus the halo effect. There isn't any photoshop working here. Cheap ring.....http://cgi.ebay.com/RING-LIGHT-FOR-Nikon-60mm-f-2-8D-AF-Micro-Nikkor-Lens_W0QQitemZ360033582232QQihZ023QQcategoryZ48515QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
