What a shame. For that money someone could have bought a real coin with some real value and purpose. Wish I had that kind of cash to literally throw out the window. Guy~
I guess I really don't understand all the criticism here., I think the seller was honest and upfront. They buyer I am sure had to know what he/she was doing. Two cars (Classics) sitting side by side. 1970 barracuda, 1970 VW. One is X amount the other marked the same. I pick the Cuda. YOU? Every collector decides what they want and what the prevailing price for said purchase is. This coin in question is worth what the buyer paid for it according to that person. Me, like I said bullion +- 15%. I have nothing bad to say about the seller, I think whoever that was did a good auction, went fishing and caught himself a fish.
AMEN, my Mopar buddy, I'm hearing you there. Drive to the ANA coin show in my 70's Cuda hear the pur of the 426 Hemi in my hears. Now that's what I'm talking about. wow that would be a great day.
I don't think the car metaphor would apply here. If you had the hemi in the VW body maybe, but otherwise, two different animals. IN THIS case it's the equivalent of taking a $25 screwdriver & putting it in a Walmart bag or a Box from Tiffany. Inside, it's still the same tool. The fancy wrapping doesn't add any value.
