Now that ht grandkids are gone, I can get back to business.

Any and all opinions please. The seller stated it was 63 RB. I do nopt thing it has a prayer of grading that high, but........... BTW, the thing on the back is a hair, not on the coin.

I will fill in the rest of the story after I get some ideas.

Stevie Wonder could "feel" grade that, lol

Some marks and baggers, but MS is questionable, pics are difficult to judge by. Obv die is well worn. Looks cleaned, again, pics are deceiving. Whats YOUR opinion?

The more I look, even with web pics and color monitor variations, I'm going to call it a dipper.....spots on left obv field tells me that

Based on the pictures and my gut instinct, I'd have to say XF, cleaned. Maybe in hand it's nicer, but there appears to be wear on all the high points, plus hairlines from cleaning.

If you want my opionion. Id say XF cleaned as well. But, there is a tiny chance its AU weak strike. NO WAY is it MS!

If I could see it in real life, then I would be able to tell more, the pics seem to suggest a week strike. But again I would mark it XF CL. The reason I would say WEAK STRIKE & OR AU MAYBE, Is there are some points that seem to show more detail then others, like the lower Obverse & upper Reverse and a sharp bold date. By any chance is the coin a tiny bit thicker on one half, when veiwed from the side? The bottem on the Reverse suggests it might be.

But with all that said and done, Im betting even in hand Its XF harshly cleaned!

as far as the strike, I think it is indeed weak. The thing that concerns me about this coin is more the striations on the obverse. If the coin were MS, there would be likely be flow lines in the fields. There are indeed lines in the fields, but they all tend to have the same orientation. This is not typical of flow lines, but can be evidence of cleaning. Were the striations to have come from die polishing, they would not tend to cover the entire face of the coin as these do, they would likely be done only in spots. The reverse shows a weak strike, and an interesting grain to the planchet. IMHO, the reverse is original. The reverse and the obverse do not look similar enough to me to think that the lines I see are planchet flaws, or graininess on the obverse so I keep being directed back to the opinion that these striations were done post-mint and therefore IMHO the coin has been cleaned.

I'd say XF-45 with a harsh cleaning (and I don't say that often). Maybe the pictures are a little too bright and only amplifying normal pocket/circulation rubs, but it sure looks cleaned.

I grade that coin $4.00, thats a VF net CDN bid. Harsh I know, but you asked for opinions....

The coin seems very well struck everywhere except for Lincoln's head and few marks except on Lincoln's head. Cannot prove it, but my guess is that it was struck though (grease?) for the head. I think that the coin would make unc. The problem (which does not show well in my pic) is the color and luster. The background seems to be a nice red with luster all be it somewhat speckled while the high points (most notably Lincoln's bust) are muted red and lack luster and the speckling. I am convinced that the coin has been wiped.

There are a couple members who might be interested in this coin. Here is the eBay link.

I agree, not close to 63RB. It's very odd that the date and mintmark are just about perfect when the rest of the coin is not.
