I would really love to see, step by step, how coins are produced,I find it fascinating.
Any ideas where I could find a dvd or website that goes into the making of coinage??Thanks..

While I have never visited any of the US Mint facilities, if I were to go, I think I would prefer to visit Philadelphia (more than the others) because of all of the historic landmarks relating to colonial times that are in and around the city.

Ancient coins were produced similarly in principle, but all by hand along the way.

Try the US Mint's web site. They had a great video on this a few months ago.

Agree. I've been there (Philly) before on a school trip. I'll never forget the awe of standing and looking at the Liberty Bell from up close.

Those landmarks are relatively close and easy walking distance. After you would get done there give me a call. I’ll come up and buy you a round!

Oh, I've been to Philly before. I'm originally from MD. It's just that I've never been to the Mint. I appreciate the offer, but I quit smoking and drinking at about the same time. Thanks!
