I'm taking a visit to my flea market today, there's a coin dealer there that I do regular business with, and I hope to hopefully pick up some nice buys. I'll let ya guys know what I get. :kewl: Wish me luck, and see y'all later! Phoenix
Good luck Phoenix! You can tell that they are die hards, when the Flea Market is open even though they are expecting 2 to 4 inches of snow and sleet, temperatures in the upper 20's and lower 30's and wind chill temperatures mainly in the teens. The local Indoor/Outdoor Flea Market here is open as well and it has been snowing all day with temperatures in the middle to upper 20's and wind chill temperatures also mainly in the teens. Frank
Thanks for the replies! Sorry for not being on the past few days, and not getting here earlier. I had a pretty decent time, I got a nice 22 D I think, has a weak reverse, but I think it might be an XF. Traded a Morgan, a Mercury dime, and a silver cert for it. Don't think I did too bad for it though. Also got a 10 S cent that I am not sure if it will go XF for $26, and a 1914 lincoln in XF too, for $8. Not sure if I will keep them though, the 14 I might, the 10 S I might sell and try to find a better one. Pics hopefully to come soon! Phoenix
Alright, sorry about the wait all! I finally snapped some pics today, hope you enjoy! Also, please help with the 22 D, I'm still a little inexperienced with grading weak strikes. The dealer had it graded G-6, and I grade it atleast a VF. But I could be wrong. The reverse doesn't have me too happy with all the scratches, so I am not too sure about keeping it, might just keep it till something better comes along. Here's also the 1914 and the 10 S. The 14 I grade XF easy IMHO, the 10 S I go VF only looking at it some more. All comments are appreciated! Phoenix
22-D I would grade vf-30. They are tough to grade with the weak strike and all. The 1914 is a nice coin! I would grade that at xf-45. The 1910-s I would grade vf-35.
Nice coins! That 1914 is a nice looking coin. Is it just me or does the reverse lettering "E PLURIBUS UNUM" look odd on the 1922 D? Like the 's' looks small and 'unum' looks different.
Not bad pick-ups, I think i have to agree with pheonix. Im no expert and I tend to judge a little on the conservative side but I'd say the 14 is an XF on the high side of the spectrum. And the ten is probably a VF, lincolns head is pretty worn but the reverse still looks to be in better shape. I like collecting wheaties, you can still find then in circulation, its like a little surprise everytime you find one.
