see, now that is what happens to you, here is what happens to me: I get a bag with almost $90 worth of nickels brought in by an older lady. I buy the bag and go home and seperate it and found the following: 2 - buffaloes 4 - canadian nickels and 13 war nickels. NO key or semi-key dates!!! Not a single one!!! basically, I got a bag of nickels. Congrats on your find!!! You keep me searching... *sigh*
I second that Cloud!!! I am sure the tellers knew who turned them in but didn't even bother giving a heads up to her. Greed at it's best. Donate some to charity dude.....your obviously WAY Ahead. Cheers
Donate to charity....yeah ok thats not going to happen. Whats the point of looking for coins in rolls.....Maybe if I find a mint 1955 double die Ill donate that, but then again that probably wont happen either. Im not being greedy Im doing exactly what the rest of the roll searchers out there are doing.
As others have pointed out, this is a ridiculous statement. None of us know the circumstances of the person who turned them in. To assume otherwise is questionable at best.
True. And just think how many times this happens. This is why I keep harping on at all garage/yard/estate sales ask if any old jars, cans, boxes, etc. of old coins destined for the bank.
By the sounds of your original post you didn't have to do much roll searching. Ears perking up on halve dollars turned in contained in a tool box doesn't take alot of effort. That poor lady that lost those coins....not even getting melt. & of course everyone is high fiving & leg slapping.... It just makes me sick that you & most of the forum think's it is so great ... Roll searching for silver is great & ya find a few...but to brag & be congradulated so openly about someone's misfortune &/or ignorance is just down right wrong. Have any of you in this whole darn forum have a relative turn in 1000's of dollars in face value silver just because they have Alzheimer's......& then when the spouse get's home, discover's the loss, & the bank/tellers won't even return or even admit receiving the coins when asked only 2hrs. later. But of course there is a deposit slip but never done in coin according to the teller.....guess she had a BUD that wanted to "roll search" instead of doing the right thing for an elderly women who was trying to work & take care of her sick husband at the same time.... Think about it all!! Cheers
I just shed a tear for your long drawn out opinion. Are you SERIOUS>>>its not like I was standing behind her waiting for her to cash them in. Please spare me the sick husband alzheimers etc.....Ok so you mean to tell me that if you were searching for coins on a beach and you found a trunk with treasure in it would you track down the family history of the pirates that left it there and turn it back into what ever family was still alive. Give me a Fing break. Dont even dare sit there and accuse me of doing something wrong, Cause I didnt. If anyone else out there thinks theres something wrong with this then keep it to yourself Ive heard it all ready............................:vanish:
dont take it so persoanlly for every successful roll search you will get some people who will be unhappy about it
It wasn't actually a "roll search"......just at the bank at the right time with good ears, lol. Peace
i a the one with good ears how come i never even found a silver penny from the bank. i must have missed some part of the story
