Seems I saw an article where the mint is putting two million West Point minted quarters out randomly among their quarter shipments.

You cannot obtain these in any proof sets or mint packages.

I’m close to West Point. I wonder if there is any benefit to proximity.

I have to go to the bank, might as well buy a few rolls.

The only way to get the W mint Lincoln Cents is by ordering the accompanying Mint set. So the mintage will likely be roughly that of the mint set sales of the particular set.

However, they may have stock left over at the end. Who knows what they will do with that.

From what I've seen of people finding them so far, there have been no solid "W" rolls. Just a few interspersed with the rest of the coins.

Can you imagine getting a solid roll? It would be like Oprah’s Christmas to all my numismatic buddies! You get a W, you get a W, EVERYBODY GETS A W!!!!!!!

From what I've seen of images of them adding the W coins to the ballistic bags, they were just using a scoop and dumping them in on the top of the filled bag. In that case the first few boxes rolled from the bag will be heavy in W's and most of the rest will have few or none.

If you have see how they handle the ballistic bags for rolling a hoist is used to up end the bag and all the coins come back out the narrow neck into the rolling machine. If they put a scoop in the filled bag they will all be there close to the neck of the bag when it is upended into the machine so last in first out and the boxes from the bottom end of the bag will have nothing. They need to be introducing them into the steam between production and counting for a more even distribution.

I cringed when you said they scoop them out into the ballistic bag. I’m sure (cringe again) they do it ohhh so carefully!

Maybe they’ll shake the bag up real good first :)
