Liquidated some of my bullion coins today and here are a couple of the coins I got. Again all comments good or bad are welcomed. And yes both coins have die cracks and the 1799 is actually 1799/8.
I'm envious of your 1799/8. One of my "short list" wants is ANY coin from the 1790's. Haven't checked what the least expensive ones are, but I suspect either a half cent or cent.
Great stuff Mark..... Kanga, a large cent in a decent VG is still around $100+ if you shop around....
Thanks for the info. I'm going to look for something XF, but sticker shock may cause me to accept a VF. I try to get coins in that range, but sometimes it's not to be. My 1893-S Morgan is a G-6 and that's where it'll stay.
Really like these coins - I came to the conclusion that the only 1799 I will ever own is this coin. And Kanga an XF large cent in the 1790's will have a hefty price tag, but just keep looking you never know when a deal will fall into your lap. And those halves you posted are really nice! As it is I would not have this 1799/8 coin if I had not traded in about 6 ounces of gold( sold all my 1/4 oz gold eagles). I actually got these two coins and two $20 dollar gold coins(1894 and 1924)and I still have money to spend.
