im in the process of getting a camera to zoom in on these. But thoughts about getting this coin graded and breaking the set?

I would wait until it's time to sell to think about having the coins graded. Once graded, sell them fast. These silver proofs are known to start growing spots once the holders are changed. If the coin is still spot free, I would leave it as is.

GORGEOUS! I tell you, seeing some of these beauties makes my collection look so inferior. Great set. That 1995-W is one of the hottest coins in the market right now.

Welcome to Coin Talk. The 1995 W Silver American Eagle is the most valuable coin in the set. (Especially in MS 70).@ldhair gave you excellent advice. Have it graded when you're getting ready to sell it.

Yup. That's why the value is steadily increasing.

I'm strictly a collector, mostly I stick with older issues, but modern coins are a big thing these days, lots of variety, and it seems like the holding period for a lot of the coins doesn't have to be very long to turn a profit either.

What is the average grade for a coin issued in a modern proof set? Mine all look flawless in the OGP, I'd have to think most would grade 69 at a minimum.

Oops. I meant decreasing. The value has definitely been decreasing just like all moderns as populations increase.

Some of those silver eagles tone no matter what you do but that one still looks pristine. I would not remove them from the capsules personally.

A friend of mine made a USPS PR70 a few times. The first sold for $89K on GC. As more are made, the price has steadily declined since.

@danryan28 My apologies. In my previous post I said (MS 70) and it should have been (PR 70).
