I was looking through some coins in a jar, and literally thought in my head to pull out the most valuable error coin in the jar - if there even is one, and pulled out this. I'm pretty sure it is a die clash from the oak branch on the back. Your answers will be appreciated.
Can you see it in the photo? I certainly can't see anything other than a dime. Can you post pics that are in focus?
Your enlargement of the whole coin still doesn't help much. A close-up of the clash would look something like this... …..or this..... Chris
I agree with PM 98 - Based on the photos, that's contact reeding from another dime in the field, to the right of Roosevelt's neck.
But the metal isn't inverted like a dent - its an actual marking made with metal, kind of like a die break. But it looks like a design, so I thought it was something else. Still think it's a contact mark?
