I decided that I couldn't resist looking up our pal Robert on the ShopNBC site and I perused their offerings. Apparently over the last night or so the 2005 Mint Set became quite a commodity! oh, well, I tried to post a link but couldn't... just search mint sets and look up the 2005 at just $599.98!!!! I mean, I thought paying double what you could pay the mint for a proof set was silly (re:2008 Presidential proof set), this is maybe trying to imply rarity to an unknowing buyer by exhorbitant pricing? I dunno, I don't think TV time is THIS expensive and unless something happened overnight, I thought that this was a $25 Mint Set.
Are you serious?!? At first I thought maybe it was for ten sets, which is still a ripoff, but at least it would be only a misdemeanor and not a felony.
This is for 10 sets. Still a big ripoff, but shopping channels usually charge about double what you would pay elsewhere for the same item. I'm sure people are buying them at those prices, as Robert Chambers and/or the host are there to sell products.
wesley, if you read the description, this is for 1 set. Read the product review. I can't believe that they put that review on their website to be honest.
The ShopNBC price does reflect (1) (10) coin set. However, I would think their price would be $59.95 each not $599.95 for (1) set.. Here is a dealer that has this set for $15.95 Chambers could charge ShopNBC $30 bucks for this set and double his money. Then the TV price should still only be $49.95 each. http://orosanto.com/2005-mint-set-p-1152.html?osCsid=c9d02c4b5ea7bf7ddd62f0b79db172ce
