my dad gave me these In the mid to late 60,S when I was in in elementary school any info would be appreciated Thanks!
As for being the only bachelor president, it was well known that his male secretary lived with him. And they were always seen together out in D.C. I won't say any more than that. These are not coins. Since there's no value and you can't spend them. It was mentioned before that Shell Oil put out some collectible Presidential "tokens". If this isn't that, it's the same sort of thing. As for value, you probably need a whole set and then you can look up auction sold prices on EBay or wherever. If these were made out of gold (I don't think so but who knows) then of course they are very valuable.
have Washington to LBJ which was whole at the time not interested in selling more like replace or add to I see .what looks like some kind trade or mint mark on obverse! !
Maybe the designers initials? The Shell coins are an 8 coin set from 1992. I am sure yours are older than that. There's a Franklin Mint set from 1968 in bronze, that could be it, if you think your coins are from 1968. 36 coin set, they also made them in sterling silver. From Washington to LBJ might be 36, now I have to use Google. Lyndon Baines Johnson (August 27, 1908 – January 22, 1973), often referred to as LBJ, was an American politician who served as the 36th president of the United States from 1963 to 1969.
these are actually pretty cool given to me by my dad in late 60,S Ioved learning about the president's as a child
It appears you have the Franklin Mint Issued set from 1968. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Franklin-M...ial-Coins-36-coins-1968-onBoard-/113702281306
thanks alot you guys are great !I ihave35 and one is damaged need the holder too! keep sake I'd like to keep nice than again! !!!¡!¡ I know we'll i think Cleveland did two inconsecutive terms could be the 35 reason ?
If I were you, I'd flatten the points of the staples before they cause more damage. Better yet, why don't you take them out of the 2x2's and put them in Saflips. FWIW, the US Mint sells Presidential bronze medals in two different sizes: 1-5/8" and 3". Chris
iveI been thinking about another form of storage been having some spotting issues on some of my stuff are I talking about the clear 2x2 or the round snap Tite !
AirTites really aren't airtight. A lot will depend on the temperature and humidity in your home. AirTites can get pretty expensive if you have a lot of coins & medals, and sometimes you can't find them in an exact fit which will allow the coin or medal to slide around inside. Personally, I think it would be better to put them in 2x2 Saflips. You can order them in packs of 50 that come with inserts for notating information and a storage box. Chris
show me a pic of one think I may have some talking about sqare plastic? please & thank I truly do appreciate the help and politeness!!!
Here is the link to JP's Corner. Scroll down to Saflips. They are archival quality and PVC-free. http://www.jpscorner.com/coin-flips.html Correction: Packs of 100 are available with inserts and storage box. Chris
