application to industry experts. today it is worth investing and buying an AU55 Rare coin (example 1cent 1911S -4milion pieces) or MS60+ (example 1cent 1911P -100milion pieces) common. What better to find yourself in the next 20 years as an investment? thanksss

Are you asking which one will go up more in real value over the next 20 years? Because in real (inflation-adjusted) value, I'm not sure either one will go up.

Coins are not investments. They are met to enjoy. I've got a number of really nice things, and all they have done is go down in price over the last few years.

Here's my take. From a fellow that has collected these addictive coins for close to fifty years....... The last twenty years this hobby has had some dramatic changes. Changes that nobody 25 years ago could have imagined. If you would have asked me 25 years ago what coins to buy, I would have said 09-S, VDB cents and 16-D Mercs. That's because they were legendary back then. They are still valuable pieces, however these days you can find either one in most any shop. In hindsight, if I had purchased some 55 double die cents, I could reap quite the windfall today because the error side of numismatics is what's happening right now.

See, thing is there is no possible way to know what may be popular twenty years from now. If it were me and my intent was to truly invest some spare cash, I would likely go with a nice double eagle. Gold has been and always will hold value. I rather believe the market is a bit soft for these old beauties. Personally I would stay away from the investor grade coin. But then I been wrong before.....
