yet another fake scored by you. I guess you have a special talent to score fakes!!! I am Lluis no need to hide it anymore , and I tell you that I am one of best expert when it comes to fakes. I was one of the few experts who said the so called "Black sea hoard" was nothing but worthless fakes while all your buddy "Dealers" attacked me that I am condemning them falsely and at the end it turned out they all were fakes!! Now you and your friends attack me the same way just because I am exposing the reality! And Yes CFDL is best place to spot fakes because members on CFDL are actual experienced numismatists who have seen and spotted fakes where many of so called "Dealers" you buy from were not able to detect!!! I know you guys can not take any other opinion and that is why you blocked me!! You just need someone praise your coins but when an honest experienced person tell you the reality, you try to close your ears and pretend your coin is genuine. And don't say to others that I don't provide proof! The proof is the bumps on the reverse beside the KY as well as the wrong wear that happens in casts the wear is not a natural wear as it should be on genuine coins! I totally agree with my good friend Michael from CFDL as he said it your site is made of 10-15 newbie who just congratulate each other about fakes they get )) Michael email to me : "Lluís don't bother with Cointalk They would ban anyone who's opinion is not welcomed. I heard stories from other members.Their conduct is very " Democratic" more like "LügenpresseI" No wonder why no dealer want to participate in that forum. Last 7 years they have these empty spaces in their page where you can place ads. I never saw an ad. Looks like no one want to advertise with them because it's not worth it. Same 10 -15 people congratulating and emojing each other. If you are an adult in need of emotional support with emojis, likes, better buy a dog and go for a walk." So true, couldn't have said it better than this !
Liuis So what is your proof? You comment that you were " one of the few to condemn the Black Sea Hoard". Actually that group received almost universal condemnation including being condemned by Martin Price who incidentally wrote the book on the coinage of Alexander III and Philip III. Price condemned the hoard over a year before a Dr. Fengler ( I think I probably got the name wrong) mounted a defense to the coin. This issue was finally put to rest by Frank Kovacs a dealer who went to Bulgaria and found the source of these fakes. I don't recall ever hearing your name come up in any of the discussions on that group of coins. Again on the subject of the Philip III what is your proof?
No one is against discussing fakes here. What we are against is doing so with no proof or evidence for coins that have no obvious signs of forgery. You have yet to provide even one die match with a known fake! The lack of humility and conspiracy minded, non evidence based thinking in your posts speaks volumes.
David, I think you did not read my message correctly. I clearly mentioned why the coin is fake. It has many bumps under the zeus seat. I don't need to give extra reasons if you don't believe me. As said someone who is genuinely sleeping can be waken up but someone pretends sleep can never be awaken. You simply don't accept any proof so what ever I say is not enough proof. But that does not change reality. However, Nothing wrong owning a fake and enjoying it as a genuine.
@Lluis - I'll grant you there are a few bumps under seat, but bumps aren't always casting bubbles. There have to be other markers. You mention the wear, that it isn't natural? How so? I see the most wear on the highest parts of the devices, while the devices meet the fields crisply. That's exactly what I would consider natural wear on a struck coin. What are you seeing that condemns it as a forgery?
Actually the bumps below the throne are not casting bubbles. If you look at the letter K below the throne you will see that most of the bottom half is missing. Most likely this small piece of metal fell off during the striking process and proceeded to damage the die as the striking process continued. Subsequent coins would bear the scars created by this event. I checked the tight areas of the coin such as the eye, and the interior of letters and found none of the surface tension marks I would expect to find if this coin was a cast.
I never respond to trolls (okay, hardly ever) but I’m compelled to thank “Lluis” for giving me something to laugh about. I think the quoted catch phrase is right up there with “I’ll be back” and “Say hello to my little friend”
