Error? Keep it/junk it?

    Hi everyone. Complete newbie here a 20190412_011730.jpg 20190412_011640.jpg 20190412_011603.jpg nd coin dumb but, so ready to start learning.
    Thank you in advance for any answers/advice.

    1985 Quarter
    "In God We Trust". Error? Banged up?

    Should I toss this one or hang on to it?

    Welcome to Coin Talk. Since it's been in circulation for approx. 34 years IMO it's just damaged.

    Yes. At best you might have a small die chip where the IN is. But like previously stated, it looks like most of the letters, or devices, are warn and we'll rounded. Don't get discouraged with your first couple denials. Hell, I'm still waiting for my first big OR small successful coin.
    You've come to the right place to learn about coins tho. Trust these people to know what they are talking about. Some times it's hard to hear, that what you see is caused by somethinge totally different. But we do have a good time and share the knowledge.

    It's a spender, but I can see why you might have found the IGWT lettering intriguing.
