“NO F” Kennedy half dollars

I’m familiar with the “ NO FG” Kennedy half dollars. But I’ve heard there are “NO F” Kennedy’s where only the “ G” appears.

Is this an actual error? If so, is this 1973 one?

If the "G" is present, the "F" was probably worn off with 40 years of circulation.

 

Another option IMO is a grease filled die.

 

myself understanding it's from die cleaning where they didn't get the grease out or cleaned properly

 

how could the f wear off when it's higher up in between the tail and leg than the g is wouldnt the g wear off first? imI just saying?

 

This is the most likely possibility. It is extremely unlikely that the "F" alone would be polished out.

No, sorry. No one really worries about single letters being gone. All letters have to be completely gone for it to be the No FG variety. Also, I can see part of the F, so it can’t be No F...

 

the 22 Lincoln has no D and week D dont see why not ! the F is seriuosly ever so slite!!!

 

2 different issues with 2 different ways of being created.
Can't compare those two.

 

The fact that you have one is the absolute reason why it shouldn't be recognized.
