Littleton sending me a service I don't want.

I recently placed an order on Littleton. I got an email today that my order had shipped, and the email said "also included is your risk-free trial selection!".

I don't want coins-on-approval. I didn't order this. I can't find any info on their website about how to cancel it.

Worse, I ordered as a guest (no account), so I can't go back to the order details and find out how exactly I got signed up for this.

Does anyone here know how to cancel this service? Will I be charged for whatever it is they're sending me?

It comes as part of the deal when you buy from them. They will include a return envelope. Simply return their coins and include a letter requesting to be removed from their approval program.

lol, they got ya! you missed the fine print where it said "by placing this order you agree to participate in the monthly coin subscription", or something like that,, you should have 30 days to return the subscription coin, write "cancel subscription" in big letters on the invoice, an maybe call an cancel as well..

I hate to be the one to break the bad news but yes you did. It's in the fine print that you didn't read. Be sure to cancel all future shipments and send this one back.

When you get them you are going to have to send them back and request they stop I believe. That's how they get you. I will never order from them for just that reason. It's like Columbia House selling CDs back in the day.

I ordered once when I was in single digits and Boy was I shocked when the game was on. My dad got them cancelled for me and I've never bought a thing from them since.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

There's also a wine of the month club out there. You get 6 bottles of different wines and pay only shipping. But you are locked in to buy at least 6 more bottles at whatever price and if you cancel early you pay the full cost of the 6 you got for the s/h. Same as Columbia House. Caveat Emptor.

There is a new ad from Littleton in AARP newspaper for a Silver Eagle for $16.85 shipped free. But of course, with approvals.

You can e mail them and be very specific and they will take you off.
The last time I ordered from them, the ad did not mention it.
But they did it none the less, and I got removed from the coins on approval.

And there is no reason that they shouldn't be. They have brought more collectors into the hobby than any dealership since B Max Mehl.

Don't want coins on approval??? Read what you are buying before you buy it.

What he said. I had the same thing happen to me, and asked them to remove me, and they did. No problem.

Bring them in, then give them a bad taste in their mouths. I guess they teach them not to trust dealers - they have ulterior motives.

Once again, what is not to trust about them? They grade fairly. They pay fairly when selling to them or so I have heard from many people over the years. (I've never attempted to sell to them so this is hearsay.) They tell you plainly that if you take advantage of their advertised loss leader coin they are going to enroll you in their approval club.

Do they have an ulterior motive? Of course they do. ALL businesses have an ulterior motive--to make a profit.

Littleton has a business model that is different then other dealers. They have done a small amount of harm to coin collecting but they have also done a large amount of good. All because of their business model.

The bottom line is simple; they provide the service and the goods that they advertise. Read the entire ad, not just what you want to read. I personally do not like the business model they offer, therefore I do not and will not buy from them. Not for any reason.
