$500 in HALVES

    Well i went through a half box, and this is what i found.
    1-1964
    1-1967
    1-1968 and this i know its a liberty but god i cant tell what the date is.

    That Walker has been in a fire. I have a Peace Dollar somewhere that would be a good match for it.

    Holy heck, that thing is toast! Still, worth a few bucks in silver. :smile

    A Peace Dollar should weight 26.73 g. I think mine weighs about 20 g. meaning 6 or 7 grams of silver melted or evaporated away. I'll post a pic sometime if I can find it in my junk heap.

    Glad you reminded me I got a box of 500.00 2 weeks ago and have not opened yet. I bettter get started. Takes me forever I like to check every coin for grade and errors:cool:

    Silver does not evaporate unless it reaches temperatures of over 4700 degrees c. Some of the silver might have melted off of the coin but it wouldn't have evaporated.
