    Yea that was one of the original auction/lottery type purchases back in the day, right?

    Yep, they cost either $3 or $5 apiece. Don't remember which.

    It looks like a stain or residue on the obverse and reverse.

    Yea I enjoyed watching that video on YouTube. It was by that Dr Dude I think. Very informative. It was also kind of funny about the different tiers and packages you could buy of these Morgan and Peace Dollars. Went from $5 or $8 and getting what you ask for to $3 and getting what they send you? Lol I don't remember what year it was but it doesn't sound MUCH different from how things are now, huh
    ? Lol

    @Dave Waterstraat
    That's what I thought when I first saw it.
    Now that I have it in hand I see dirt accumulation. Look from the 3rd star to the neck.

    Gotcha. Not sure about vam, and it's stained. Just my guess.

    It looks like staining from something having been glued to it at one time. It was, after all, in circulation before the GSA packaged it.

    Check VAM 7.

    I was thinking glue also as I have a Morgan that had stains from glue. I actually boiled distilled water to remove the glue and a stain was left.
