Mint made error or post mint damage? I'm new to trying to identify the different types of errors but this one has several areas that made me question.

    Welcome to the neighborhood, Jilly!

It is important that you understand that it is not enough, simply to look for errors. Without knowing and understanding the process of making coins, you will be thinking that every little ding & dent in a coin is an error. Once you learn about the minting process, common sense will tell you that it is better to throw coins like this into a wishing well at your local shopping mall.
