I just won this in the Noble Numismatics auction. I loved the portrait on this one. This coin was part of the second issue of 86 CE. So that means this coin was produced before mid-September of 86 CE.

Here is what RIC says about the Issues of 86 CE. "The coins of these issues are all relatively rare and output overall appears to be low in comparison with the largest early issues of the reign and, even more so, compared with later years"

I was also struck by the toning of this coin. I will be happy to add this handsome denarius to my collection.

    Very nice! An elegant portrait.

I forgot the auction house is in Australia and a day ahead of me, so I missed out on the lot I was going after! Glad you got your target Andrew.

    Pretty coin!

I was confused because although I know you like to post coins the moment they have been won, your attribution says the auction is on April 4... today... but you posted this yesterday! I thought you were just being optimistic.

    Ohhhhhh...
    Australian auction :D.

The auction house photographs are very nice.

I guess one of the things that draws me to Roman Imperial coins is the portraiture, this coin is definitely a wonderful case. Well done @Orfew

The coin arrived today. It is gorgeous. The toning is amazing and is not adequately expressed in the photo. Except for very slight wear to the laurel wreath on the portrait this coin seems as struck. You even see the sideburns! I was so lucky to get this one. It will be in my collection a long time.
