Welcome to Coin Talk. I can't comment on the authenticity of your coin. Have you tried to contact a reputable coin dealer in the area where you live? There are several grading companies you can send it to for authentication and grading. Before doing so, please post larger, clearer photos of both sides of the coin and wait for some of the experts on Coin Talk to give their opinions. Some Third party grading companies

Welcome to Coin Talk. This is not a criticism of you as I realize you're new to this. You first had it posted on the "Ancient Coins" forum and now you have it on the "What's it Worth" forum. It should have been posted on the "US Coins" forum as it is listed in the "Red Book" under Contract Issues and Patterns as Continental Currency. If you look at your post on the Ancient Coins forum I gave you the best reply that I Could. Please repost it from the Ancient Coins forum to the US Coins forum. You will probably receive many replies on the US Coins forum. Thank you.

Um, "currency" is misspelled. Grainy surfaces.

@longshot The OP @Unique 143 first had this posted on the Ancient Coins forum and now on the What's it Worth forum. I don't know how to do it but could you have it moved to the US Coins forum where she might receive more replies. Or maybe one of the moderators has to do it. Or perhaps it doesn't have to be moved at all. I don't have any experience in doing something like this. That's why I'm asking you. Thank you.

Moved to US coins, and merged the duplicate threads.

@thomas mozzillo- only moderators can move threads and posts. You did the right thing by reporting it.

Some of the originals use the "CURENCY" spelling. That being said, I cannot speak to the authenticity of that piece. I have strong doubts on that, but will defer to those more experienced. Cast pewter copies of these are a dime a dozen, but I don't know how to distinguish a lot of them from the originals, as to be honest, I've never seen an original pewter Continental dollar.

The originals were die struck, this coin is a cast fake. Grainy surfaces, lettering and devices are all blurry and misshapen, all indicators of a cast coin. Lettering and device placement is also wrong, no chance of it being genuine.

I had a niggling memory that that might be so, so I didn't just call fake. Should have checked. Thanks for the confirmation.
