Wasn't sure where to put this, but I noticed it in a coin shop and bought it since the price was about what you would pay for a good frame. The bad news is that the Elizabeth R isn't the current Queen of England but the good news is that it is her mother, the Queen Mother of England!!!

Make sure that you hang it somewhere that does not expose it to daylight.

Looks like museum glass to me.

It looks like non-glare glass, but that doesn't keep light out. My mom used it a lot for framing her watercolor paintings.

I've got art that was framed 30+ years using museum glass.
At the time, it looked just like the above framed check.
    Either way, it's not important.

I’m not into paper collecting due to its fragility, but I admit this is a cool piece of history and see the appeal.

I like the way the shillings and pence we're noted. Very cool piece of history.

Twenty pounds... that was quite a significant amount of money 100 years ago.
I like the design of the check too. Contemporary checks like the ones I have from BoA look incredibly boring compared to this.

Hey...whoa...1965 is only 50 years ago :) I also saw other checks (cheques?) from the Queen Mom on line that were the same bank, design, etc. Wonder what the check to the Countess was for?

1965? Looked like 1915, but, I just noticed the curve at the bottom.

Yes, interesting what the check was for.
