I got this coin, It's a reproduction copy of some sort. It's made of copper and it's 38.1mm, the size of a U.S. Ike Dollar. I was wondering if someone knew what's it's called, if it's a copy of some real coin, and if so, from which country and which denomination. Thank you so much it is appreciated, -Frank
Welcome to cointalk The design is a copy of a British sovereign. The real coin is of gold, and considerably smaller. Here is link to this design, with St. George reverse~ https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces4024.html The first design from Queen Victoria’s reign featured the crowned shield reverse, as here~ https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces5760.html
Thank you so much Bayern for all this info, glad I was able to learn more about it!!! I guess I won't be able to find any other coins ressembling this one in size and color then.. Yes Seattlite86, that's exactly the same link Bayern provided, thanks for your help too!
Looks like Bayern was a little faster, but I wanted to make sure you saw the copy sign. Sometimes those can be easily overlooked.
At least they added the "copy" at the same place where one immediately looks for the mint mark on sovereigns.
