Perfect centering front to back and side to side, but honestly 68-70 Grades are so very close its hard to tell them apart, only the well trained Eye...LOL
Thanks MPC....I checked a few of mine, the margins aren't really that egregious. Upon checking closer, the back on one of the SCs has fatter top/bottom margins than right/left but it wasn't egregious. Very very marginal, IMO. Maybe I'll upload the 66 pics here or on another thread, front-and-back, and you can comment. What's somewhat strage is that the 66 has the EPQ designation but the 68 does not.
I would like to see both of those PPQ Or EPQ is simply the paper quality but 68 should always have that on it, now you got me curious...LOL
Here you go...front/back of the PMG 66 1957 SC and front/back of a PMG 68 1957B SC. Tell me where the 2 grade difference is coming from. Grading isn't my strength but I'm surprised it's not jumping out at me.
I have never seen a 68 without the designation PPQ or EPQ, with a 68 thats a given, i have seen a few 67,S and lower with out it though.
So what you are saying is I have a PMG Error encasing. I will start the bidding at $12,000.... It's either an oversight or someone (a substitute grader that day ?) at PMG figured that a 68 grade implied PPQ/EPQ. Ditto with a 69 or 70, I guess. It is weird. Maybe I'll reach out to PMG.
PMG didn’t always use EPQ. Notes must qualify for PMG’s Exceptional Paper Quality designation (EPQ) to be graded 65 and higher. Very early PMG notes do not have the designation, and can be resubmitted ($5) and reholdered.
The foil seal on the front is a indication of a older holder, so its probably Just that, but if the serial number is coming EPQ on PMG site then its time to Ask some questions.
No, that foil seal is a sticker from RQN. RQN (Review Quality Notes) is a company that tries to be the paper money equivalent of CAC.
