So I was at my friends house when I noticed he had this Epcot center world showcase International Showcase coin set! It has 11 coins all from a different country so I asked him if I could have a look at it and he said go ahead it’s not worth anything I found it in the garbage! I asked if he was interested in selling it as he didn’t seem to care or know about it! I paid him 20 bucks as he was happy and wouldn’t take more than that! Now that I have examined it, almost all the coins in the set are mint errors! The USA one 1995 no mint Philadelphia has a doubling in the in god we, and in America on the back also blotches in mainly in the T of United on reverse! And there are die errors in a lot of it, one on obverse and reverse you can see just looking at it...The other coins also have die errors and doubling! I am fascinated with it... I think it’s an awesome find and a nice collector piece for my collection! What do you guys think? Was it worth the 20 I paid? I think so, I got 20 dollars worth of enjoyment from it for sure!
Welcome to CoinTalk @Chris Grey ! I can not see the coins in the photographs you posted very well. I am wondering whether what you are seeing on the cent coin obverse atop the legend is split plating which we see a lot on Lincoln cents minted after 1983. Our experts will be able to give you a definite opinion about your coins.
btw - on Ebay you can find a set like yours but 1996 coins for under $8.00 including free shipping. I did not search for a 1995 set. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Walt-Disne...795204&hash=item56c061436b:g:9c8AAOSwnI9cYGPY Also, if you are interested in finding out whether you coins are 'error' coins or contain 'die errrors" as you suspect, then you can put this post in the "error" forum, here: https://www.cointalk.com/forums/error-coins/ In that forum our experts will let you know whether the anomalies you see on your Lincoln cent are, indeed, die errors and true doubling.
While it is unlikely that the coins themselves are worth $20 you have a nice display piece. People pay more than that for a picture to hang on the wall, so if you enjoy it that is what counts.
I’m afraid you overpaid on this one, but if you’re happy, that’s what matters. Just about all of these coins can be found for under 25 cents. Stick around and you’ll learn more about values and availability.
The coins in this set are not all 1995 some are 1992 and 1996 there different dates can never overpay for something you enjoy doing
