    Hello everybody,
I though it would be interesting to have your opinions on this 1795 Half which was part of my Christmas present to myself. It was bought off Ebay, and is PCGS-graded. This is very unusual in Ebay germany.
The price was right, and i thought being PCGS graded, the risk was low. I am very pleased with the coin. The fields are smooth, even if it has a small dig in the field behind the head.
I would be happy to have your opinions on this coin, as well as help from anybody who can attribute it. (Coinfacts lists all of Overton varieties, but no pictures).

(The pictures are a little blurry - sorry about that - difficult to take pics through the slab)
I will "reveal"the PCGS grade at the end.

    Thanks and regards,
    Eduard

Hi Tdec, actually i thought this was very reasonably priced for a 1795 half, encapsulated.
I paid 410 Euros. That is roughly $ 620 at todays crazy rates.

I say Fine 12 because the hair on the obverse. But the reverse makes me want to say Good4. nice to have either way.

My guess is a S-131(could not count berries) and VG10 from PCGS. Another really nice coin! Can you count the berries on the left and right side of the reverse - on the S-131 there are 7 on left 9 on right. Are there any die cracks?

Hi Mark, yes, there are 7 berries on the left, 9 on the right. No die cracks, not even faint ones present as far as i can see on either obverse or reverse. Thank you very much for the attribution! (O-131).

I'd guess VG-10 or F-12, and probably leaning towards the former...Mike

Thanks. Concerning the grade you were all correct,or real close: the assigned grade is VG10.
Thanks for your comments and to Mark for the attribution.

No question O-131, the stem under the base of the A is almost diagnostic. Only other possibility would be O-130 and the leaves below the U are different on O-130.

Very nice coin. :thumb: I'm gonna say VG-08.

I'd say VG-8, maybe 10. What's really interesting I just saw another PCGS graded 1795 half that my local dealer sold today.
