I must be slow, as I just now noticed that Robert Chambers, formerly of ShopAtHomeTV, is moving to ShopNBC to sell coins. I wonder when that will happen, or has it already happened? He was always good for some entertainment.

Ruthless. You guys are ruthless. So the guy hawks coins. and they overcharge. How many coiners here know of at least two coin shops that overcharge? The most prominent one here in Vegas charges two bucks for an Oklahoma state quarter. But I dont see a group of folks standing in front of his window pointing and laughing. Although there should be.

I am not bad-mouthing the guy. I have been entertained by him and others on the network for years. I never bought anything from him, but I actually did learn some things from him. It'll be interesting to see him on ShopNBC. That guy, Elliott, came from ShopatHomeTV over to ShopNBC a few months ago to sell electronics.

If I am not mistaken, Shop at home goes off the air tonight and Old chambers will be on the other network , Shop NBC, tomorrow Night. Talking about not missing a beat, wow. Tonight they will have their going out of business sale and tomorrow they will have their grand opening sale. As they say "you can not keep a good man down":hammer:

What's really funny to me is, that Robert Chambers would very often say, "On another network, they have this item for $xxx" Now, he is that other network. Well, one of the two networks that he would often bad mouth.

Their outrageous fees help us sell the same product at what looks like reduced rates.

I see a good many online auctions that use them as a so-called price guide "reference" when listing like items.

The excitement is almost killing me. Two hours of Coin Collector on HSN from 8-10; and then at 11, the Robert Chambers debut on ShopNBC. Aside from having a major winter storm here, and shovelling out my driveway about 10 times today, I can hardly think of a better way to spending my Saturday night. (Sarcasm)

Did anyone catch it last night? They had 2008 presidential proof sets for only...........................................39.98 + 6.95 S&H!. I feel like such a fool buying them from the mint for 14.95+S&H:headbang:. (Coin Shoppe's did come in original government packaging, maybe that's why they're almost 2.5X the mints price LOL). Also, is NGC's "early releases" a "premium pedigree" as Chambers called it or just a scam to justify them marking up their prices? Is it the same as HSN's ICG "first day of issue" tag?

Hello Hello; No one can really tell whether or not a coin is a first day issue or an early release. All they can really say is that they're one of the first people to receive it, hence the "first day" tag. Keep the so called pedigree. You like the coin...buy it, for its' merits alone and not some guy telling you its' got a pedigree.

Obviously, since you get what you pay for for, the $39.95 Presidential Proof sets on ShopNBC are better than the ones from the mint for $14.95.

Why arethey selling the 2008's for more than the 2007's? Hmmmmm.....

And didn't Robert look a little nervous last night? ShopNBC is a notch up from ShopatHome TV. The sets are better, and the dress code looks better.

ShopNBC is worlds better then ShopAtHome.

They archive shows and I can view any I missed when I need some cheap entertainment and eye candy. For it's part ShopNBC has fully embraced the coin vault style.

He was on again tonight at the same time as coin collector on HSN. I channel surfed all hour looking for the worst deal LOL.

Did anyone notice how SBNC had the half dollar bald eagle listed as a Silver half dollar. Thought I had missed something. Well old chamber came on later and explained the Dollar was a silver proof being that of 90% silver and 10% copper and the half dollar was a clad made of 92% copper and 8% nickel. Old Chamber caught that toward the end of the show and done a decent job of trying to correct this mistake without bringing attention to it.

I did like it when the guy mike talked about how the 69's were just a hair away from being a 70. Sound just like old Robert.

Thought chambers was nervous Saturday night but looked like he was regaining his form Sunday. He got on several rolls where the other guy had to shut him up due to time restrains. Josh maybe I should have been born a critic but they do need more women on these shows.

I watched the 1 a.m. show last night and they were selling NGC graded BU coins.

Can you get NGC to give a grade of "BU" or is that just a special grade for ShopNBC???

EDIT: They showed the slab and the grade was "BU".
