    Hi everyone,

I am new to the hobby and stumbled on this 1983 penny with an error on the last "T" in trust. I have searched on google and couldnt find this type of error. Has anyone see this before on the 1983 Penny? Also is this worth anything?

Any info would be highly appreciated!

    Thank you,

    Welcome to CT!
Your first question should not be 'what is it worth?'
Your first question should be 'is this an error?'
No, it's not an error, it's zinc rot. Common on pennies since 1982.

Apologies rickmp and to anyone I might have offended with my forum etiquette or better said, lack of.

Thank you for the quick response and the welcome.

Most issues on coins that look strange or different are most of the time just PMD - Post Mint Damage. If there are minor mint errors to be found most have very little or no premium at all.
Learn what true actual mint errors are first. And then worry about value last. It takes time to understand.

The problem that most collectors new to error coins is that they don't know what to call them. So, searching the internet can be difficult. If you like to read books, you might want to get this one.
