Error reverse above wing and back of bird's neck. It appears to be a die crack error. I call it "bird hunting". 20190328_005527.jpg 20190328_005511.jpg 20190328_005514.jpg

It looks like a gouge on the coin to me.

Die crack definitely. I will send a better pic soon. It is not recessed.

I hope the photo is better than the first one.

It will be the first time I've ever seen a die crack in the middle of a field that didn't connect to anything.

Usually a hit to the coin moves metal. In this case, since the metal didn't compress (which it never does) the metal moves usually up. Kinda like platetechtonics. Metal gets pushed over some and up. So it would be raised with a section next to it that is down.

just looks like regular damage to me.

Looks like a gouge to me. Die chips are always connected to something, usually a high point. I've never heard of a die chip in an open field.

Die chip is a mound of metal usually in the middle of the field away from the rim. Also called interior die break. U.S. coin guide.

    Gouged. Worth 25 cents.

If you feel that way don't take time to respond. Time not wasted. My time is my time to do with as I please. Thanks

It’s called honesty. Why delude yourself? It only takes away time from the important things in life.

Meow found this. It is a little nub in the middle of nowhere. WIN_20181103_04_22_17_Pro.jpg WIN_20181103_04_22_34_Pro.jpg WIN_20181103_04_23_04_Pro.jpg

I suppose the title of the post might have been - "I think this is a die chip - Is it?" or "Is this an error?"

If the OP were coming to show something new, better photographs would have been helpful to convince our knowledgeable experts.
