I like books, too! My library consists of about 100, but that is small compared to other collectors. But, if I wanted a book about errors in general, I would rather have this (which I do!)...
As a dealer I would tell you to collect whatever you like and enjoy it but I would also advise you to concentrate on coins earlier than 1965, especially dimes, quarters and half dollars as you are getting some value for your hard earned money. Modern issues are made by the millions and its a great feeling to complete a set of any series but knowing years from now there will be a value is also very important. Silver dimes can still be purchased for less than a $1.20 in circulated conditions and a great way to start. Enjoy!
I hear you - I do understand & agree about the people lookin for views... Regarding needle-in-a-haystack legit finds of value however... i think Joyner Lucas describes my attitude best lol "When I die, I’m goin’ out as the underdog who never lost hope". thanks for lookin out- ill make sure to use the forum to gain valid info not sensationalized videos/articles
None of us gives up hope. I've probably looked at 99%+ of every coin that passed through my hands since I started collecting as a kid in 1970
I would also add I fell I love with Type collecting years ago. While I could not afford to collect a whole series of old coins, especially those key dates, I can set a goal of owning ONE of everything ever minted! I am now working on two type sets for my boys just to keep me working on a set and while a few of them are pricey I keep in mind I only need one for each book!
