diffrent 1958 5 centavo

    hi well i had to travel to old mexico for medical reasons, and i found this 5 centavos coin in a jar that my dad has of old coins, he dose not collect coins, what happen to it? it's the wrong color. oh and i got 8 of the bi-metal 100 peso coins from a bank.there very big ang nice.

    Just a guess, but I notice that the cinco centavo was issued in two metals for 1960, 1962, and 1965 (brass and copper-nickel). The more normal composition of the years 1954-1969 was brass. Though it is not listed in my edition of Krause, perhaps 1958 was also a year of the two issues.

    My impression is that someone plated a normal brass Josefita with a nickel layer.
