I am a very inexperienced collector. Is the mintmark on this 1988 D Lincoln cent an example of Die Deterioration Doubling (DDD)? As is apparent from the attached pictures I could also use some advice on how to use a flatbed scanner to make decent pictures of coins? Thanks in advance.

The issue on the Mint Mark is called split plating. It's a worn die issue.
