So I have this pair of coins but know nothing about them only that they're made from Franklin Mint ... my question is, are they gold ? or gold-layered brass coin ? like the ones they sell atm. Or has the Franklin Mint ever made gold coins like this ones? mmm.... Each coin weights 41.2 grams and is aprox 40 mm wide. year of 1965 Thanks !
im not sure really. being from the franklin mint means they could be anything! do a search on goole for franklin mint gold, or maybe usethe inscription on the back as a search criteria (i cant read it, it is too blurry)
I'd go with Daggarjon said as I honesly don't think there are any Franklin Mint gurus here. Good luck!
All the Franklin Mint Medals that I have seen will have the corresponding gold or sterling silver stamps to indicate if they are made of a precious metal. Heck even the bronze medals will have "solid bronze" stamped in the edge. Try looking at the edge first to see what markings are there.
Ty very much guys. Theres one mark in the side of the coins, its like an eagle, but cant really see something more. I took them to a place here in town and they told me they are 18K gold coins, so at 41.2 grams each I guess they are worth something.
