We Rocked with the Stones last night. (Two corny references to geology eh?) It was a great show. There were four costume changes & the performance was well rehearsed. It was the kind of show you would expect to see on Broadway, Vegas, London, or Paris. Each artist on stage had obviously studied a lot of Rolling Stones film. Got another guitar pick for the collection: Rock on people. On Tuesday we have seats in row B for David Crosby.
Welcome to the forum Nils, the post you responded to was more than a year ago. The software only gives the date of the post in small faint info at the bottom. Many get fooled at times. Jim

Check-out this 320g (139 mm x 93 mm x 20 mm) Rough slab of Bumble Bee Jasper! It's from a US seller and it originates from Indonesia. My only other yellow-colored mineral samples are sulfur. Please rock 'em if you got 'em. Also, last night we rocked with David Crosby. Our seats were row B but after the show started, he asked if we wanted to sit in the two available front row center seats. You can't make-up this stuff. Obviously, we had a great time last night with the legendary Mr. Crosby.
This weekend ANoob & I attended a coin show. A mutual friend met us at the show & gave us each a meteorite. ANoob got a piece of iron meteorite from the big crater in Arizona & I received this more common rock type (basically star-dust from the beginning of the Universe). While holding this heavy/dense rock, I thought of a good Alfred Hitchcock style murder-mystery story. In this story, the bad guy (assassin) is a geologist that specializes in meteorites. He fires the Meteorite at/through his victim. The forensic evidence shows that the victim died due to being struck by a meteorite fragment. Of course in this Hitchcock story, the police investigators contact the geologist for his expertise on the subject & he helps the cops wrap-up the case by his expert analysis of the murder weapon.
I’m so jealous, Collector89! Meteorites are sooo cool. I have a small piece of one myself. I’d like to get another one someday, but too many coins to buy first. Fun fact: There is one recorded incident of a meteorite hitting a human. The lucky person was Ann Hodges. Thankfully, she survived and had a pretty big scar on her hip to show for it. Erin
Now, this goes back 40-50 years, but does anyone remember a Howard "Rocky" Byrom who was a Rockhound, Rock and mineral enthusiast who used to frequent Gem and Mineral Shows throughout the nation?
Very nice examples. I don't have one from Arizona but I have several from around the world. They are neat.
I am everywhere and nowhere. I just don't have the mojo or the time for that matter to post more of those "scholarly" type threads. I do enjoy the goodreads and the of course the lurking. Here is my latest pick up. AU 4/5 4/5 Minted in Athens BC 440-404. Oh and I miss you too!
Always fun to come back to this ROCK and mineral thread. Rocked last night with Foreigner & tonight with the Beatles tribute band Rain. One new guitar pick was added to the collection: Steve Landes performs the part of John Lennon & he also played Lennon in Beatlemania.
