    @babygirl !

    Repeat this over and over until you have it memorized...

    "A cud is a break along the rim that extends into the field."

    @babygirl - It looks like die chips or cracks. But I am not an expert so wait and see what the experts say. I can say what they are not and by definition they are not cuds.

    As mentioned, a nice, but small die chip.

    Good eyes to spot it......!

    OK I get that part now then what would I consider this to be, so would this picture be more like a cud coin? WIN_20190325_13_43_45_Pro.jpg

    It looks like damage to me. I think part of the coin metal that forms the rim was pushed (mashed? gouged?) into the field.

    Yep, sorta looks like damage ...but I sure would like to see the full obverse (front) of the coin and the reverse (back) of it too, if you could post it. Also I would like to see the edge of the coin at that place.

    I think I'm seeing a small crack on the right side of that flowing glob. In my inexperience I would not rule out cud until I saw more of the coin.

    Posting additional photographs would only be for me, so please don't stress yourself about it. Fred Weinberg, our most expert expert says he thinks it is damage and that is good enough for me. Thanks! :)

    You have a die chip. A cud must touch the rim as in this example.

    A cud does not have to be that big!! It can be tiny but it must meet these requirements:

    1. along or on the "rim"
    2. which extends into the "field" of the coin

    (I added the "or on" language for myself because it helps me remember that a cud can be very small and not necessarily run along a long distance of the rim.)
