How long does it normally take to get items ordered from the US Mint. I ordered the 2007 proof and silver proof sets on Saturday, and here it is 5 days later and the order request is still on hold. How long are they normally on hold before they are shipped? I was expecting the coins to get here in about a week when I ordered them thinking that they would be shipped the next day...but thats not the case.
it can take a while.. i am still waiting for the release of items i ordered in november i think it was... they will come... when they get to it.
I waited a long time for my Baldies to come in. I called 3 times. The first time I called, the CS rep told me that it is normal for orders to be placed on hold while the mint verifies payment. For example, I do all my banking on line. When a purchase comes in on my account, it goes into the pending file before it actually posts. It can be there several days before it posts to my account and the money is withdrawn. This was evident with the Baldies. I saw the pending charge from the mint, then a few days later they were shipped. The CS rep did note that my order was pending longer than usual, meaning that my order said "in process", but nothing was happening. The other 2 CS reps that I spoke to were useless. I also never received an email notifying me that the Baldies were shipping like I have received in the past. I am currently having some problems now with existing orders. One of the CS reps told me that the new ordering system that they switched to is causing the problems. Hope they fix them up soon.
I have found that it takes at least 3 weeks to get anything from them. I have had it take 2 weeks to get something AFTER they have notified me that it has been sent! I think that is one area the Mint can greatly improve customer service. I just don't see why it should take that long to get something.
I still don't have the presidential dollar proofs, or the Young collector Bald Eagle half. It's going to be awhile before you can order the 2008 clad and silver proof sets.
The 2008 Clad and silver proofs are supposed to come out in July and August from what I'm told. You can already get the clad and silver quarters now though.
Hmmmmm...... I ordered both the 2007 Mint Set and Proof Set just last week and already have both of them! (Though, if you read my thread above, you'll see that the Mint Set is probably going back :-( I live in East Tennessee and get everything from the "fulfillment center" over in Memphis. Guess that helps, to be so close to a facility. Can't imagine why any of you would have to be put on "hold" for months, though! Seems odd to me, but this is the first time I've ordered from them, so I don't have any past experience to draw on except the current one :smile Regards, The Whistler
My fiance called just now to find out why, after almost a week, our order was still on hold. It turns out that they never took the money out because the billing address was wrong. So instead of calling or emailing saying that there was a problem, their reaction was to do nothing! How wonderful!
