grading ikes is tough can i get a pros 2cents

    Tough to say from those pics. Depending on how many marks it has and given its apparent luster Id say 64 on the low end 66 on the high end. Again, it depends how clean the surfaces are from any nicks or scrapes.

    Even if I were a pro at grading Ikes, I would be hard-pressed to grade this coin based on your photos. The lighting washes out too much of the image. It's best to place the lights (at least 2) at a 45 degree angle to the coin with the camera directly overhead. That way light bounces away from the lens.

    Generally, 73-D Ikes are very clean looking coins, with few planchet flaws, and few handling marks. This is likely because of the attention given to them in the mints as coins issued only for collectors, and not for circulation. Curiously, Philadelphia issues of the same year are not quite as nice, as they tend to exhibit many more tiny depressions in the planchet which did not strike out.

    Small images, like what you might see on your phone, always look good until you post them and you see the enlargement.
