Hi everybody I just started to hunt for pennies a month ago and last nite I found this 1960 with what I think its a RPM any value for this kind of error?
Hi El_henry, Welcome to ct! Can you please post a photo of the whole coin both sides please. So we can get a proper answer for you. ( possible re punched mint mark) Thank you
There’s absolutely no doubt here: it is indeed an RPM and one of the more significant ones at that. Not highly valuable iirc, but it’s certainly worth something and is quite cool too. Congrats.
I think it’s a toss between DDD and an RPM. Yes it looks like the mint mark is doubling. Yet you can see the tops of the letters in god we trust has DDD. Perhaps, conder101 or Paddyman98 or Fred will chime in and have a better answer for you. Still ,nice find
I think it is a later die stage of 1960D-1mm-001 myself, but CC doesn't have a later DS IMO. This page shows some secondary ID points, but definitely a RPM to me. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1960&die_id=1960d1mm001&die_state=mds
Check eBay sold prices. The online sources are usually not up to date,if it is a 5* RPM if that # and on Coppercoins.com is is $8 ( not recently updated) in XF in middle die state. Early DS more, Later DS less, usually, IMO, Jim
