Is this an error and if so what is it called?

Hi everyone! I would think this is just scruffed up but a few factors make me wonder. The apparent reeding on the face side near the bottom, the back isn't all scratched up, and the small lines etched into where the border and words are supposed to be are going straight in different directions, not circular. Need an expert, please. Thanks so much!

Welcome to Coin Talk. Larger, clearer photos would help. Take a photo of both sides of the coin with proper lighting on a dark background. Click full size and not thumbnail.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will put it on a dark background and take it in natural light tomorrow. Thank you again!

Looks like a great representation of all the high points on the lincoln wheat cent and what the purpose of a rim is lol.

Some one was possibly trying to make it look like a cent struck on a reeded dime planchet. but after see how difficult it was and how easy to tell it wasn't they gave up. Fred has an very good example on his website
    https://www.fredweinberg.com/product/1937-lincoln-cent-buffalo-reeded-edge-set/'
where someone apparently used an old reeding machine to make some for a coin show.

But be aware well over 99 of every 100 modern cents ( for me since 1909) that have physcial problems that could not be a mint error or variety is a fake job. If a person doesn't read ( google) about the minting process, most people have no clue as to whether it is or is not possible. The forum has some real experienced and knowledgeable people who enjoy answering questions but eventually it gets a little repetitive, so thank you for being polite :) Jim

Aha! I didn't even think of that, the idea someone practicing faking an error. I was going through coins I collected as a kid, basically anything old or different looking I would save just because I thought they were neat. That really makes a lot of sense. Thank you for your reply.
