Today my wife gets home from work and tells me she "set aside" an old style $20 note. Cool I thought. What condition? So we're sitting in the computer room and she pulls out her currency holder. Now, you have to understand that my wife is into numerolgy. 444 is a good number so I've always kept an eye out. Got her a few here and there and some with more 4's. She's trying to explain the condition of this note and pulls the pack out. Lot more than I EVER gave her. She says it's close to this in condition. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0019-2.jpg So the $20 note is probably in XF or so but GEEZ look at the serial number she nailed! A 1993 note nonetheless and the last two digits just happen to be my birth year. Suppose I need to start snooping in her desk. clembo
cool serial on that $1 note. ooooo so close to being full! very nice find! so ... am i missing soemthing here... wheres the $20?
She didn't have $20 on her to replace it so it's gone. Ha, just kidding it's safe at her workplace. She's off today but will get it tomorrow.
This is why I keep her Darryl! Actually she has a pretty good eye. Over the years she has found me an underinked $100 note and a few very scarce 295 errors. One of those has a known population of less than 10. clembo
Not to worry Hamman if she sees something it will be put aside. Just so happens her boss used to work for ME at the truck stop. Martha (her boss) KNOWS how I am when it comes to currency.
I dont get excited about singles. Am I missing something? are the collectible singles overhyped? or is it legit collecting as much as the big bills?
Whatever floats your boat you know? As I stated my wife is into numerolgy. Good for her, if she likes notes like this then go for it I say. Happened to know a lot of people here happen to like serial numbers. Judging by the response I think I'm correct. Also bet they would have liked this number on any other denomination. Some choose to limit themselves to one or two notes. Seems you like those 50s and 100s. Cool by me but personally I like more. Limiting myself would just bore the socks off me but I'm me an you're you so like I said. Whatever floats your boat. clembo
floats my boat yeah I like those $50 bills. I like those $2 bills too, but after paying $166 each, for two batches of 50 two-dollar bills, I spent the $2 bills as pocket money anyways. Bills got me in a bind. Oh well. in my twisted way of rationalizing, I just add that $132 to the cost of my $50 bills. The fifties I got decent prices on.
That is an awesome note, and a great find at that! The note and your wife both certainly are keepers! :thumb: Phoenix
