To all who replied to my thread.... Thank you. I feel that I got some good sound advice. I'll be hanging onto my IRA, small thought it is. I'll start with my 500.00 and keep buying gold and silver as more money becomes available to me. Thanks to the advice from all of you, I have spent more time investigating coins in general and I think that I'm becoming interested in the actual "collecting" aspect as well. There are many striking coins that look like they would be enjoyable to own as a collection. I have decided to try and straddle the fence between investing and collecting. I think that'll be a good balance. Any other suggestions folks? and again THANKS.
